Job Overview We are seeking an experienced, motivated and compassionate Band 7 Clinical Lead Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Mental Health and Wellness Team South (MHWT South). This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled nurse to provide clinical leadership and support the delivery of safe, effective and recovery focused care within a busy and supportive multidisciplinary community mental health team. The post holder must be a registered mental health nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), extensive community mental health experience and excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills. They will lead the Access and Triage function, ensuring referrals are reviewed promptly, risks are identified and managed effectively, and people are directed to the most appropriate service or intervention.About us

The Clinical Lead will provide senior clinical oversight, professional advice and visible leadership to the wider team. They will support staff with complex assessments, risk management, care planning, safeguarding and clinical decision making, while ensuring that practice is person centred, trauma informed and focused on recovery.
Working closely with colleagues across health, social care, primary care and the voluntary sector, the post holder will promote effective partnership working and support the delivery of coordinated care. They will contribute to the allocation and management of referrals, monitor demand and capacity, and support timely access to services for adults with complex and enduring mental health needs.
The role also includes providing clinical supervision, supporting staff development, contributing to quality improvement and service development, and ensuring that clinical practice meets professional, organisational and regulatory standards. The post holder may also be required to manage a small and complex caseload where appropriate.
This position is ideal for a confident and experienced mental health nurse who can demonstrate strong clinical leadership, sound professional judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will be committed to improving service user outcomes, supporting staff and maintaining high standards of safe, compassionate and responsive care.

Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.
Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15%of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,1371 - per annum, pro rata for part time) Certificates of Sponsorship Although we are a registered sponsor organisation, we are unable to offer sponsorship for all job roles. Please check your eligibility under the UKVI points-based system. When calculating the basic salary for sponsorship, HCAS (High-Cost Area Supplement) is not included to ensure fairness and consistency within our Trust. .
