Job summary

The HMR Community Therapy Service is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the population of Heywood Middleton and Rochdale.

As team Lead, the post holder will have clinical, professional and managerial responsibility for the community therapy service including clinical and staff governance issues. The post holder is responsible for maximising service provision, including the delivery of safe and effective clinical practice, ensuring that all local and national guidelines and targets are adhered to and met.

Working as Team leader, the band 7 will be part of the therapy and wider multidisciplinary team. The post holder will use advanced therapeutic skills in a variety of areas to provide direct high quality and effective therapeutic care and support to patients and provide day to dayoperational management and leadership to the team.

Main duties of the job

Within the scope of the role, the post holder will independently plan, complete advanced assessment and deliver interventions. They will be responsible for independently managing their own patient caseload, demonstrating clinical autonomy, advanced clinical reasoning,prioritisation and manage competing demands.

The post holder will initiate and drive service development, demonstrate self-developmentand will be responsible for supervision of others and delegate appropriate tasks to registered and non-registered staff. They will be responsible for providing specialist therapy advicewithin the trust and to other health care professionals.

Main line management duties overseeing daily service operations, managing staff, and ensuring quality care delivery.These responsibilities include setting objectives, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and supporting staff development.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registration with HCPC
  • Relevant Professional Health related degree
  • Possess a recognised Clinical skills Module at Masters level or equivalent knowledge

Desirable

  • advanced level clinical qualification
  • leadership qualification
Experience

Essential

  • Substantive post registration experience
  • Extensive knowledge/clinical experience in Urgent and or Community setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of local health and social care pathways
  • Experience in the management of long term conditions e.g. dementia, COPD, CHD etc
  • Able to demonstrate previous leadership experience

Desirable

  • Previous experience or involvement with the writing of policies and protocols
  • Experience of leading, planning and completing audit /research
Skills

Essential

  • IT skills
  • Promotes and supports own professional development
  • ability to motivate and contribute to develop MDT
