Herschel Grammar School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Technician to join our Outstanding Design and Technology Department. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly regarded department within a well-resourced and modern workshop, supporting high-quality teaching and learning. The team of teachers and support staff in the department have been working together for several years and provide a very friendly, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, ordering and managing materials and resources required for practical lessons
  • Maintaining machinery, tools and equipment to ensure the highest standards of health and safety
  • Organising and managing the efficient storage of resources
  • Supporting teaching staff and students during practical lessons

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have practical workshop experience and a strong awareness of health and safety
  • Be organised, reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM, would be an advantage, or if not, a willingness and aptitude to learn how to use these programmes and equipment (Laser cutter / 3D printer)
