Embedded Software Engineer

Are you an Embedded Software Engineer who is skilled in Embedded Linux (including Yocto) as well as Microcontroller development? This Technical Consultancy will allow the successful Embedded Software Engineer to broaden their technical knowledge, work closely with Clients and to contribute their own ideas to solve real-world challenges.It would be great to see applications from Embedded Software Engineers who have commercial experience across a variety of industries.

You must possess at least 1-2 years' commercial experience, be fully eligible to work in the UK (sorry we cannot consider Graduate Visa's) and bring a good academic history.

In this Embedded Software Engineer role you'll have responsibility for a range of tasks such as building and maintaining Yocto based Linux distributions; writing and debugging firmware for microcontrollers, bare metal or FreeRTOS; working across the stack from bootloader and kernel drivers down to real time firmware as well as supporting products in the field.

What you should bring to this Embedded Software Engineer role:

• Post-graduate commercial Embedded Software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ for Microcontrollers (ideally STM32 or similar Cortex M)
• Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux (Yocto Layers, Kernel Drivers, etc.)
• Experience with FreeRTOS or another RTOS.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and reading schematics.
• Good communication skills with confidence to work closely with customers.
• Minimum of 2.1 Bachelors Degree in Electronics, computer Science or similar.
