About the Role
This Farm Vet opportunity is based in Frome, Somerset, where you'll be part of a small, supportive team working across Somerset, Wiltshire and the Bath area. The caseload is predominantly dairy and beef, with some sheep and smallholder work, and the role is set up to give you a high level of autonomy.
The rota includes a quiet on-call service shared with a neighbouring practice and a 1:7 weekend rota for most of the year. Flexible working is also available, with part-time, seasonal, non-standard hours and working from home all mentioned as options, alongside the ability to buy or sell on-call.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide farm veterinary services across Somerset, Wiltshire and the Bath area
- Work with a predominantly dairy and beef client base
- Handle some sheep and smallholder work
- Take part in the shared on-call service with a neighbouring practice
- Cover the 1:7 weekend rota for most of the year
- Carry out TB testing, which is shared equally across the team with ATT support
- Work with a high level of autonomy within a small team
- Develop your own interests and areas of expertise
Requirements
- An experienced vet
- Interest in farm animal work
- Ability to work within a small team while managing a good level of autonomy
