Finance Systems Lead based in Derby
37 hours per week (Hybrid working)
Salary– Up to £55,105 per annum
About the role
As Finance Systems Lead, you will be MHA’s senior functional specialist, balancing business-as-usual support with migration and transformation work to keep Finance applications, interfaces, reporting and data flows effective, controlled and aligned to business needs. You will oversee the legacy finance estate—including OpenAccounts, eBIS reporting and Caresys interfaces—through migration and decommissioning, while supporting other key business applications as required.
Reporting & Relationships
Report directly to the Systems Solutions Manager and use strong technical credibility to build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, delivery partners and suppliers.
About you
You have significant finance systems experience. You have a strong understanding of Finance processes, controls and reporting, and the business analysis skills to turn requirements into practical system, data and process improvements. You're comfortable being the go-to Finance Systems expert and guiding analysts without line managing them.
Key Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead second- and third-line support, resolving complex Finance systems incidents, defects and configuration issues
- Own and govern finance coding structures and general ledger configuration, including the chart of accounts, nominal codes, cost centres and funds
- Turn Finance requirements into robust business cases and system improvements through focused workshops and analysis
- Drive supplier, release, change and testing activity across Finance systems, integrations and reporting
- Support major ERP transformation and the transition from legacy systems to cloud, from design and configuration through parallel running, implementation, adoption and decommissioning
- Support end-to-end data migration, including cleansing, mapping, validation, reconciliation and cutover readiness, while safeguarding critical Finance cycles
Key experience:
- Significant experience supporting, administering and improving Finance systems in a complex organisation
- Extensive hands-on experience of finance coding structures, including the chart of accounts, nominal ledger, cost centres and reporting dimensions
- Strong business systems analysis experience, including facilitating workshops and documenting business and functional requirements
- Substantial involvement in end-to-end systems change from functional design and configuration through testing, release and post-implementation support
- Proven experience managing suppliers across defects, service requests, enhancements, releases and escalations
- Experience supporting financial reporting, data quality, migration, reconciliation, interfaces, integrations and data flows

Flexible, adaptable and improvement-focused, you will work effectively independently and collaboratively, delivering high-quality results at pace and to consistently high professional standards.
Experience with
- OneAdvanced Open Accounts, eBIS, V1 (DB Capture), Caresys
- OneAdvanced Cloud Financials and Cloud Business Management, or comparable Finance systems
- SQL, APIs and integration tools
- Power BI or wider reporting and analytics platforms
- Tradeshift and electronic data interchange (EDI)
Location
This is a hybrid role based in Derby, combining on-site collaboration with the flexibility to work from home. An on-site presence supports effective team working.
