Job summary

Iridium Medical Practice is seeking a motivated and organised General Practice Administrator to join our friendly and supportive primary care team.

Main duties of the job

This role covers a wide range of General Practice activities including but not limited too;

  • Docman
  • Clinical Coding
  • Record Summarisation
  • Safeguarding
  • QoF / Planned Care

The successful candidate will work within the Practice Admin team with close support from Management.

Job responsibilities

  • Streamline the flow of clinical correspondence through the organisation reducing the number of letters which a GP needs to process. Where there is uncertainty, to forward the letter to a clinician for safety.
  • Code relevant information into patients electronic medical record on EMIS web clinical system via DOCMAN.
  • Provide administrative support to clinicians, management and the wider team as required.
  • Review medical records and produce an accurate summary of the patients medical history.
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times, to respect patients privacy and act appropriately in the performance of the duties outlined in this post.
  • Undertake any other duties deemed appropriate by the Practice.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and provide cover where required.

Person specification

Experience

Essential

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and information governance.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Desirable

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative role within a GP practice.
  • Proficiency in EMIS, with at least 2 years hands-on experience.
