An established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join its HR team. This opportunity has arisen due to a planned maternity leave, and the business is looking to appoint someone who can ensure a smooth handover and provide ongoing HR support across the organisation.

Reporting initially to the Senior HR Manager, with future reporting lines into a newly appointed Head of HR, you will play a key role in supporting managers and employees across a dynamic operational environment. A strong background in Employee Relations is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Manage a range of ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability, performance and investigations.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employment law and HR best practice.
  • Support employee wellbeing initiatives and promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activity across the business.
  • Support hiring managers with workforce planning and recruitment requirements.
  • Manage onboarding and induction processes.
  • Build strong relationships with external recruitment partners.

Learning & Development

  • Identify training and development needs across the workforce.
  • Coordinate training programmes and maintain learning records.
  • Support succession planning and career development initiatives.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development.

HR Operations

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Support HR projects and organisational change activities.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for HR-related queries.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and commercially minded HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

You will have:

  • Previous experience within a generalist HR role.
  • Strong Employee Relations experience with the ability to manage casework autonomously.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A confident, approachable and solutions-focused attitude.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous.

About the Team

You will be joining a supportive and expanding HR function consisting of:

  • Senior HR Manager
  • Senior HR Generalist
