Inclusion Support Mentor – SEN School Cranleigh, Surrey | £23,999–£26,603 Actual Salary | Permanent | Full-Time | Term Time Only A specialist SEN school in Cranleigh is looking for an experienced Inclusion Support Mentor to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Specialist Teaching Assistant (STA) or HLTA looking for a rewarding next step? Or are you already working within SEN inclusion support and looking to develop your career? This is an opportunity to work with students aged 5–19 who have moderate to severe and complex social communication and learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and a range of additional needs. Many of the students have Autism/ASC. About the Role As an Inclusion Support Mentor, you will: Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to students with complex SEN Support students with social communication, learning and emotional needs Help students engage positively with learning and school life Develop positive, trusting relationships with students Support students with challenging behaviour using positive and consistent approaches Encourage independence, confidence and social development Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and the wider multidisciplinary team Adapt your approach to meet individual student needs Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment Take a proactive role in supporting students to overcome barriers to learning About You We are looking for someone with: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, Specialist Teaching Assistant, HLTA or Inclusion Support Mentor Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, complex needs, Autism or challenging behaviour An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or willingness to work towards this Strong physical, mental and emotional resilience A positive, proactive “can-do” attitude Flexibility and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment Strong communication and relationship-building skills A calm, patient and consistent approach A genuine commitment to supporting students with complex additional needs You will also be required to train as an Intermediate Team Teach Trainer. Salary will be dependent on previous experience within education or related environments. Role Details Position: Inclusion Support Mentor / SEN Inclusion Mentor Location: Cranleigh, Surrey Setting: Specialist SEN School Age Range: 5–19 years Needs: Moderate to severe and complex social communication and learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and Autism Contract: Permanent Hours: 36 hours per week Working Pattern: 39 weeks per year, term time only plus 5 INSET days Actual Salary: £23,999–£26,603 Monday: 8:30am–4:00pm Tuesday–Thursday: 8:30am–4:15pm Friday: 8:30am–3:45pm Important Notice To apply for this position, you must have the right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa.
