Applications are invited for a 4 PA Community Consultant Paediatrician at Epsom General Hospital, Epsom, Surrey, to help deliver our service in the north of Surrey. The post is a fixed term contract to manage capacity within the neurodevelopmental service. The post will be based at Epsom General Hospital
The post holder will deliver community paediatric clinics.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Duties:The post holder will deliver community clinics including neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioural clinics. The clinics will be held at Epsom General Hospital within the children's outpatient department.
Specific Duties of this post:Specifically, the role will include:
developmental assessment in all paediatric age groups including assessment of autism (such as objective assessment like ADOS)
assessment and management of specific neurodevelopmental conditions

Job responsibilities
The principal duty of this post is to provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients.
1. To, at all times, comply with the GMCs guidance on Good Medical Practice as amended or substituted from time to time.
2. To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
3. To undertake duties as defined within the attached job plan in so far as practicable and in agreement with your Clinical Director.
4. To be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of Trust resources that you use and influence, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director.
5. On commencement to ensure personal attendance at the Trusts corporate Induction (or arranged Consultant Induction).
6. To participate in the Trusts Statutory & Mandatory training programme.
7. To be responsible for the clinical management of out-patients under your care.
8. The principal duty of this post is to provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients.
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Hold a medical qualification or qualification registered with the GMC
- Entry on to the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining CCT
- Appropriate higher medical qualification i.e. MRCP or equivalent
Desirable
- MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
- SPIN module in Community Paediatrics/Neurodisability
Skills
Essential
- High standard of clinical skill in Paediatrics and experience of Neurodisability
- Experience in the assessment and management of Developmental disorders, Social Communication Disorders including Autistic spectrum disorders
- To have substantial clinical experience of the health needs of Children Looked After
Desirable
- Have proven negotiating and leadership skills

- Ability to contribute to change management on completion of CCT
Desirable
- Publications in peer reviewed journals
- Familiarity within issues of service organisation and development
