Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Maths Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming secondary school in the Wolverhampton area.

Duties and Responsibilities

We work with a wide range of schools and academy trusts across Wolverhampton and the wider West Midlands, offering access to both daily supply and long-term teaching opportunities. You will also have access to training and CPD opportunities, alongside ongoing support from your dedicated Smile Education consultant throughout your placement.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Maths lessons across the secondary age range.
- Teach Maths up to GCSE level, with the opportunity to teach A Level where required.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to ask questions and develop their mathematical understanding.
- Adapt lessons, resources and teaching approaches to meet the needs of students with SEND and other additional learning needs.
- Assess student progress effectively and provide clear, constructive feedback to support continued development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department, sharing ideas, resources and best practice.
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour, learning and achievement at all times.
- Encourage students to develop their confidence, resilience, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and support students' academic and personal development.
- A qualified Maths Teacher or Maths ECT.
- Previous experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school.
- Strong subject knowledge and a good understanding of the secondary Maths curriculum.
- Experience teaching GCSE Maths; knowledge of relevant examination boards would be desirable.
- A confident, enthusiastic and engaging teaching style.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners.
- A reliable, flexible and committed approach to supporting student progress.
- A genuine passion for Mathematics and for helping young people develop their confidence and achieve their potential.
