About the Role

This is an out of hours Veterinary Surgeon role based at CVS Vets 24/7 Barnstaple, working in an ECC setting alongside the day team at Charter Vet Hospital. The rota includes 3 nights in a 3 week cycle, with shifts from 6:45pm to 8am, plus weekends on a rota basis.

You will be joining a service that provides ECC support to a number of practices in the area, so the work will be varied and clinically focused. Key Responsibilities

• Provide out of hours ECC care for referred and first opinion cases through CVS Vets 24/7 Barnstaple.
• Work alongside the day team at Charter Vet Hospital.
• Support ECC cover for a number of practices in the surrounding area.
• Deliver clinical care during night shifts and weekend rota cover.

About the Practice

The role is based at Charter Vets (Roundswell) in Barnstaple, North Devon, with the advert referencing CVS Vets 24/7 Barnstaple and the day team at Charter Vet Hospital. The site is described as well equipped, with 2 theatres, 4 consulting rooms, an on-site CT scanner, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, laparoscopy and an in-house laboratory.

The team includes very experienced vets, with certificate holders in surgery, imaging and dentistry, plus overnight and Sunday nursing cover. The practice also holds Gold Cat Friendly Clinic status and is dog friendly.
