Part-Time Teacher of History

Kirkby Stephen Grammar School is part of Cumbria Education Trust. The successful candidate will be joining CET at an exciting time, as we continue to build on our successes and move forward on our journey to establish ourselves as one of the highest performing MATs in the North of England.

We are seeking an outstanding, creative and inspirational Teacher of History to join our team.

Hours of work: 0.74 FTE based on a two-week timetable (With opportunity to extend this from Sept 2027).

This is an excellent opportunity to join Kirkby Stephen Grammar School at a pivotal time for its future.

The candidate should be an excellent classroom practitioner, reflective in their teaching practice and focused on getting the best from every student across all key stages of the secondary curriculum.

The successful candidate will:

• Possess a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Bed)
• Be an excellent communicator
• Ensure high standards of teaching across the curriculum and have a commitment to challenging learners to achieve well
• Be a passionate, caring and inspirational leader and teacher
• Be self-motivated and reliable
• Be enthusiastic about current research on thinking skills and building learning power.
