Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This part-time Veterinary Surgeon role is based at Goddard's Ewell practice, where you'll be supporting a busy and growing GP caseload alongside an experienced clinical team. The post is for two days per week, with set shifts on Tuesday and Wednesday, plus branch Saturday cover, Sunday cover at Stone Lion Hospital and one bank holiday.

You'll be working in a beautifully designed clinic with an open-span prep area, walk-in kennels and a large reception area for clients. The practice has digital x-ray, dental x-ray and ultrasound on site, and you'll also have support from the Stone Lion 24-hour hospital in Wimbledon for more complex cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out consultations and assess pets presented to the practice.
• Recommend management and treatment plans in line with best practice, evidence and GVG protocols.
• Perform routine surgery within your own competence and the limitations of overnight care.
• Prescribe, maintain and dispense medicines in line with current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.
• Keep clinical notes accurate, thorough and useful for colleagues.
• Refer cases promptly, including to a GVG hospital where needed.
• Help maintain a respectful, collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
• Ability to work two days per week, with the rota pattern listed in the advert.
• Comfort working within the boundaries of personal competence and overnight care limitations.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with the wider clinical team.
