Smile Education are currently recruiting for a proactive and reliable Pastoral Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Telford.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with an immediate start, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The RoleAs a Pastoral Assistant you will:
- Patrol corridors and support students to get to lessons on time.
- Respond to on-call requests from teachers and provide support with behaviour incidents.
- Work with students who have been removed from lessons, helping them reflect on their behaviour and reintegrate into class.
- Supervise students during break and lunchtime.
- Build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
- Support students to develop better behaviour, accountability and resilience.
- Make phone calls home and communicate with parents/carers where required.
- Work alongside teachers and the pastoral team to maintain high standards of behaviour and student engagement.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with young people in a school, youth work, sports, mentoring or similar setting.
- Be confident managing challenging behaviour and maintaining boundaries.
- Have a positive and approachable manner.
- Be able to build strong relationships with students.
- Be reliable, proactive and professional.
- Be comfortable working as part of a wider pastoral and behaviour team.
