Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Breast Unit admin team as aPatient Pathway Coordinator.

This post is based onsite and is a key role within the Trust where you will provide a full and comprehensive administration service to the Breast Unit, including welcoming patients at reception.

There is always something different to learn and it is a fast paced role. needing attention to detail

If you're someone who enjoys talking to people, has a calm and empathetic nature and can work on their own initiative - this could be the job for you.

You will need to have a good attention to detail, and be able to negotiate with clinicians and patients to ensure that patients receive their treatment within our target times.

Full support and training is provided.

This is a part time post at 22.5 hours per week - you must be able to work on Mondays and Fridays, and any other day of the week.

Main duties of the job

To provide a full and comprehensive administration service to the Breast Unit, including welcoming patients at reception. This will require the post holder to possess great communication skills and a warm welcoming manner.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a customer/patient focused environment
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality
  • Experience dealing with people (customers, patients) over the telephone or in person

Desirable

  • Experience of dealing with patients appointments
Specific Skills

Essential

  • Polite and professional telephone manner and ability to deal with angry, difficult or distressed callers
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE/O level or equivalent work experience
