Job summary
Pharmacy Technician GP Practice | Role IntroductionWe are looking to introduce a Pharmacy Technician role within the practice to support the clinical team with medicines optimisation, prescription management and medication-related queries.
The Pharmacy Technician will work closely with GPs, pharmacists and other members of the practice team to help ensure patients receive safe, effective and appropriate use of medicines, while also supporting the practice with medicines-related administrative and clinical processes.

Job responsibilities
The Pharmacy Technician will work as part of the multidisciplinary team at East Leicester Medical Practice, supporting GPs and other clinicians with medicines optimisation, prescription management and medicines safety.
The postholder will support medication reconciliation, prescription queries, medication reviews, liaison with community pharmacies and other healthcare professionals, and medicines-related audits and quality improvement. The role will help ensure patients receive safe, effective and appropriate use of their medicines while supporting the wider practice team and improving clinical capacity.

Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified and registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
- Experience of working within a primary care, community or pharmacy setting.
- Good knowledge of medicines management and safe prescribing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality and continuous improvement.
