Job summary

Are you an experienced project leader ready to deliver something truly transformational? South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) is seeking an exceptional Project Manager to lead one of the most significant infrastructure programmes in our organisation's recent history: the delivery of a brand-new Ambulance Make Ready Hub.

This is more than a construction project - you will oversee the successful delivery of a major new operational facility while supporting the extensive business, operational and people change required to embed new ways of working, improve efficiency and ultimately support better patient care across our communities.

This is a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact on ambulance services, working alongside executive leaders, operational teams, clinicians, estates professionals, system partners and external contractors to bring a major strategic investment from concept to reality.

We're looking for someone who combines professional project management expertise with the ability to inspire confidence, build relationships and lead through change.

Main duties of the job

As Project Manager, you will structure and define a complex, high-profile set of projects that combines estate development, service redesign, stakeholder engagement and organisational change. You will:

  • Support the development of business cases, clearly articulating the case for change.
  • Support the planning, delivery and implementation of a new Make Ready Hub, leading key aspects of the work.
  • Develop and maintain robust project plans, governance arrangements and reporting structures.
  • Support meaningful engagement with staff, managers, trade unions and partner organisations.
  • Manage risks, issues, budgets and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Support procurement, commissioning and supplier management activities.
  • Ensure that benefits are realised and embedded into operational practice.
  • Work with senior leaders and executive sponsors to deliver strategic objectives.
