While providing the energy security Britain relies on today, we're also helping transform the network for a clean energy future.    Join us and help secure Britain's energy.  About the role A Quantity Surveyor manages all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, providing cost estimation and planning, contract management, financial oversight, risk management, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. They support tender evaluation, negotiate contracts, audit contractor records, and prepare detailed reports to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Why this role matters By providing commercial insight, financial control and contractual expertise, this role helps ensure critical projects deliver maximum value, minimise risk and achieve successful outcomes for National Gas and its stakeholders.What you'll be doing Commercial support to the PM in managing and administering all contractual relationship Contract Management – manage multiple contracts within a defined portfolio Financial Management – manage spend to date and forecast spend inline with contract terms and NGT governance Risk Management – support the risk management process and the continual development of the Risk Register with the PM Tender evaluation – support the evaluation and negotiation process, providing professional advice Dispute Resolution – Lead dispute resolution efforts by providing professional advice Support & mentor other QS & JQS’s What you'll bring BSc Quantity Surveying Construction experience, utilities desirable, larger scale projects NEC Two Stage ECI NEC 3 & 4, Options A, C & E RICS Chartered Member (MRICS) (Desirable) Demonstrated leadership abilities and advanced skills in contract management and project management Experience of managing QS’s What we offer Market-leading double-match pension (up to 12% company contribution)  Annual performance bonus up to 6%  Access to the Tusker salary sacrifice car scheme   26 days holiday (plus statutory holidays)  10x salary life assurance and income protection   Flexible benefits including healthcare, dental, and technology options   Family-friendly policies, wellbeing support, and professional development opportunities  Security clearance This role is subject to National Security Vetting (NSV).
