Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Radiopharmacy Technician.
This is a brilliant opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience within a highly specialised area of pharmacy and healthcare.Previous radiopharmacy experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. However, you must have a strong interest in developing your technical skills and be able to work the required Radiopharmacy hours of 5:30am to 1:00pm.
The successful candidate will be either a Pharmacy Technician, Science Manufacturing Technician, or hold a degree-level qualification in a relevant science subject.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for Preparing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards. Undertake quality control testing of finished radiopharmaceutical products. Perform in-process checks on the work of other members of the team. Supervise and support less experienced staff undertaking radiopharmaceutical preparation. Maintain high standards of quality, safety, accuracy and compliance throughout all aspects of the role. Work closely with the senior Radiopharmacy team to support the development of services and processes. Contribute to the ongoing development of the Radiopharmacy in line with commercial and operational requirements. Follow all relevant procedures, regulations and quality management systems associated with the preparation and handling of radiopharmaceuticals.must be able to work 05.30am until 1pm

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential
- Registered pharmacy technician in UK by GPhC / registered Science Manufacturing Technician (Apprenticeship Standard- Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Aseptic Pharmaceuticals processing) in UK by the Science Council
- Numerate and literate e.g. GCSE in Maths and English A* to C or equivalent or IELTS test score 7 as required by GPhC if overseas candidate
- At least one of the additional pharmacy qualifications e.g. Completed APTUK Foundation Framework Foundation management or other recognised management qualification or demonstrable management experience TAQA Medicines Management qualification PIPC ACPT CIPS level 4
- Evidence of post-registration development relevant to the role
- Experience of supervision of staff, trainees or leaners
- Experience of accurate dispensing, preparation or supply of medicines (in hospital or community pharmacy or aseptics)
- Evidence of maintaining continuous professional development and occupational competence
- Evidence of effectively communicating with patients, customers and colleagues
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience of co-ordinating and prioritising workload
- Able to travel and work across Trust sites where required
Desirable
- Completion of Practice supervisor programme or equivalent.
- Experience relevant to role applied for e.g.: Providing a ward-based medicines management service, Clinical Trials or research experience, Aseptic services experience
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Stock control/ordering experience
- Experience of CMM or similar computer labelling/ordering system
- Participation in recruitment, training and staff development
