Main duties of the job

The role involves daily face-to-face and telephone contact with patients, carers and visitors, working within our friendly Care Navigator/ Administrations team.

Our key aim is to enable patients to interact with the Right Person for the Right Reason at the Right Time.

We encourage applications from candidates seeking either part-time or full-time work. Hours to include 8am starts and 6.30pm finishes.

About us

We are a long standing , busy surgery based across two sites. We currently have around 20,000 patients. We have a large student population based at the Nottingham Trent University and a smaller diverse population at our Radford site.

Job responsibilities

You will be required to respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and visitors efficiently and courteously.

To ensure that telephones are answered promptly and politely at all times.

To assist patients in using the practice online consultation system.

To receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the most appropriate service or healthcare professional. This may be via the online consultation system, face to face or via telephone.

To prioritise calls/patient requests according to urgency.

To deal with any prescription requests promptly, ensuring at all times that patient details are correct.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
Experience

Essential

  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience of administration duties.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in General Practice.
  • Experience of dealing with patients.
  • Experience of working with a clinical system such as EMIS or SystemOne.
