Job summary

Sturdee Hospital is a dedicated service in Leicester, committed to providing holistic, personalised care for women aged 1865 who have complex mental health needs. With 31 beds across two locked rehabilitation wards and nine semi-independent flats, we offer a supportive and structured environment in which every individual can work towards their recovery goals.

Main duties of the job

To operate reception answering telephones and greeting visitors. The ability to develop good relationships with prospective customers, employees, suppliers and professionals, the ability to work as part of the team is vital.

Job responsibilities

Main duties of the role:- 1. To respond to customer enquiries in a friendly and effective manner, making sure manual and electronic records are maintained. 2. To show visitors around the care home in the absence of senior staff or the Registered Manager. 3. Maintain accurate and complete records for residents and staff members confidentially in line with the companys policies and procedures. 4. Purchasing supplies (e.g food, stationery and over the counter products) for the care home as required. 5. Dealing with telephone calls effectively from staff, doctors, social workers, residents family members and other pofessionals. 6. Report any maintenance issues to the Registered Manager accordingly. 7. Communicating with residents in a friendly and appropriate manner. 8. Liaising with head office staff accordingly. 9. Participate in storage, retrieval and disposal of archived documents in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 10. Provide administration support to the Registered Manager and any other duties required. 11. Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements. 12. Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times 13. Continual Personal Development to develop oneself and the role. 14. In addition to these tasks, employees may at times be asked to carry out other reasonable duties as required by the service.

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable adults an advantage

Desirable

  • Excellent communication skills
Qualifications

Essential

  • Knowledge/Experience of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Ability to competently use the internet
  • Strong administration skills including numeracy and literacy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable adults an advantage
