The Relief Kitchen Assistant will play an important role within Jewish Cares Catering & Hospitality team at the Anita Dorfman House, part of the Sandringham Campus in Stanmore. This relief/bank position provides casual hours on an as-and-when-required basis, helping to cover staff absence and maintain a consistently high standard of hospitality across the campus. Duties include basic food preparation such as vegetables, salads and sandwiches, preparing food counters and dining areas for service, serving hot and cold food and beverages, maintaining clean and hygienic environments, and operating the till and cashing up when required. Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment is desirable, along with a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake the qualification. Some weekend working may be required.Main duties of the job
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and flexible Relief Kitchen Assistant to join our Catering & Hospitality team at our Sandringham Campus in Stanmore. This is a casual relief role, providing cover for staff absence and supporting the delivery of a welcoming and professional hospitality service. You will assist with food preparation, serve hot and cold food and beverages, prepare dining areas, maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and operate the till when required. You will need good communication, literacy and numeracy skills and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Previous kitchen experience and Basic Food Hygiene are desirable, with training available for the right candidate.About us

Our multi-award-winning organisation is looking to recruit a Relief Kitchen Assistant to join our Hospitality team. This role may include some weekend working.
The role of Kitchen Assistant will involve the delivery of Hospitality Services within our Campus, Care Homes, and Community Centres to excellent standards.

Who are we looking for?You will ideally have previous experience working within a busy kitchen environment, working both independently and within a team. You will need:
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to undertake this qualification) Great communication skills, confident speaking to a range of people Good literacy and numeracy skills Willing to undertake appropriate training (e.g., Supervision, NVQ Training)
