Role: Residential Childcare Officer

  • Salary: Bucks Pay Range 2 ISN 11-15 £26,522-£28,742 Pro Rata, Actual Salary £11,289-£12,234 + Sleeping In Rate £31.43 Per Night
  • Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only
  • Hours: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 3.00-9.00pm + 1x Night Sleeping In (9.00-11.00pm & 7.00-8.30am) (21 Hours in Total)
  • Start Date: As soon as available

We are looking for a Residential Childcare Officer to join our team, providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with additional needs in a residential setting. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of our students by creating a nurturing and structured environment that supports their education, independence, and personal growth. You will work closely with students, staff, and families to promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive residential experience, in line with safeguarding policies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, promoting their confidence and independence.
  • Support the emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing of children, helping them overcome challenges.
  • Assist with daily activities, including meals, education, leisure, and personal development.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential or social care setting.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards one.
