Job summary

Chatsworth Road Medical Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive, and well-established team in a permanent post starting September 2026.

You will be working 6-8 sessions per week and joining an excellent team consisting of 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, Practice Nurses, and a PCN Pharmacy Team. We are looking for a GP who shares our ethos, values teamwork, and is keen to contribute to the long-term development of the practice.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced GPs and newly qualified GPs.

Main duties of the job

As a Salaried General Practitioner, you will use your professional skills and clinical knowledge to deliver a high standard of patient-centred care within a supportive and collaborative team. The role includes:

  • Face-to-face and telephone consultations
  • Management of clinical correspondence and results
  • Repeat prescribing
  • Home visits where appropriate
  • Participation in the ongoing development of practice services and patient care
  • You will also participate in Extended Access provision and take a fair and equitable share of on-call duties as part of the clinical team rota.

Chatsworth Road Medical Centre is a friendly associate training practice that serves 9900 patients in a small catchment area in Chesterfield. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality, patient-focused primary care and place strong emphasis on teamwork, learning together, and continuous service improvement. We are a high QOF achieving practice with low home visiting rates, supported by wider services. We use SystmOne as our clinical system and are supported by SystmConnect to enhance access.

Job Summary

You will work as an autonomous salaried General Practitioner, using your professional skills and clinical knowledge to deliver a high standard of patient-centered care within a supportive and collaborative team.

The role involves a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations, alongside management of clinical correspondence and results, repeat prescribing, and home visits where appropriate.

Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to conduct other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

  • The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
  • commensurate with the GMS contract, undertaking responding to patients face to face, by telephone or online as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous record on practice computer system for all patient contacts
  • Communicate with other members of PHCT and outside agencies to plan and provide care which meets patients needs
  • Prescribe in accordance with local and national guidance
  • Effective management of long-term conditions
  • Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies including those on confidentiality, equality and diversity, GDPR, health and safety and infection control
  • Process administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
  • Undertake on call duties on a rotational basis
  • Participate in advanced access hours on a rotational basis
  • Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
  • Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
  • Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
  • Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
  • Participate in mandatory training
  • Ensure compliance with the appraisal and revalidation process
  • Work within practice guidelines for safeguarding children and adults

Qualifications

Essential

  • Essential criteria
  • Qualified GP MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
Experience

  • Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
