Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Anaesthetics and Critical Care team as aSenior Clinical FellowatPrincess of Wales Hospital.

This rewarding post offers the opportunity to become an integral member of theIntensive Care Unit (ICU) on-call rota, gaining valuable experience in the management of critically ill patients within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team.

In addition, successful candidates will have opportunities to work alongside theGeneral Anaesthetic team,supporting bothelective and emergency theatre servicesacross a broad range of specialties. This role provides excellent exposure to a diverse clinical workload and is ideal for clinicians looking to further develop their skills in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, and critical care.

This post is Fixed term until February 2027 to cover a Deanery vacancy; there is potential for this post to be extended.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Full GMC with a licence to paractice and eligible to work in the UK
  • ALS Certified
  • Primary FRCA

Desirable

  • ATLS qualified
  • APLS qualified
Physical Requirements and Attributes to Include General Health

Essential

  • Must be able to perform the duties of the post
  • The post holder must have proof of immunity to Hepatitis B or evidence that you are not Hepatitis B e antigen positive. This must have been obtained in the last 6 months
Circumstances e.g. Mobility/availability - special attendance requirements

Essential

  • Ability to fulfil the requirements of the post
Relevant Experience

Essential

  • 3 years postgraduate training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care to include 6 months Intensive Care training (minimum) and 1 year of Anaesthesia (minimum)

Desirable

  • Experience of working in the UK
Personality Requirements

Essential

  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
  • Flexible and the ability to work well in a team environment

Desirable

  • Welsh Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above

  • Has an awareness of risk management
