Senior Commercial Account Handler

A well-established independent insurance broker is looking to appoint a Senior Commercial Account Handler to join its successful Coventry team.

This is a key position within the branch, suited to an experienced commercial insurance professional who enjoys the technical and client-facing aspects of broking. You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial clients while acting as a senior member of the team, providing support, guidance and expertise to colleagues where needed.

The role offers the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of commercial risks, build strong insurer and client relationships, and play an influential role within a growing branch, all without moving into a full-time management position.

The Role

• Manage and service a portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
• Handle renewals, mid-term adjustments and general account management activities.
• Support Account Executives with larger, more complex and technical cases.
• Build strong relationships with clients, insurers and key stakeholders.
• Negotiate with insurers to secure the best outcomes for clients.
• Act as a technical referral point for colleagues across the team.
• Share knowledge, mentor less experienced team members and help develop technical capability within the branch.
• Maintain the high levels of service and client retention the business is known for.

About You

• Strong commercial insurance experience gained within an insurance brokerage.
• Previous experience as a Senior Account Handler, Commercial Broker or Account Broker.
• Good technical knowledge across a broad range of commercial insurance products.
• Confidence handling larger and more complex client requirements.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.
