Sandstone Trust is looking for a confident and proactive Senior ICT Technician to provide first-class technical support across the Trust’s schools. Reporting to the Trust ICT Manager, you will help ensure that staff and students have reliable, secure and effective technology wherever they work and learn.

About the role

Working across Sandstone Trust’s schools, you will support the Trust ICT Manager in maintaining reliable, secure and user-friendly ICT systems. You will support teachers in the classroom, diagnose and repair equipment and cabling faults, maintain networks and peripherals, and help minimise system downtime across the Trust.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide practical classroom support for teachers using computer systems across the Trust’s schools.
  • Investigate faults, diagnose problems and complete major repairs to equipment and cabling.
  • Generate, extend and maintain computer networks, including installing software and keeping anti-virus and utility software up to date.
  • Provide software support and produce clear, user-friendly guidance for staff and students.
  • Maintain email, internet services and related activities, including school or Trust websites.
  • Maintain, plan and upgrade the SIMS system, liaising with the SIMS help desk when required.
  • Support after-hours use of computer rooms while protecting file servers from unauthorised access.
  • Keep your professional knowledge current and respond positively to the changing needs of a multi-school Trust.

What we offer

  • Generous holiday entitlement, helping you maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • Access to an excellent pension scheme.
  • The opportunity to make a visible difference to teaching, learning and the day-to-day experience of staff and students across Sandstone Trust.
  • A varied role covering hardware, software, networks, systems and user support across multiple schools.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development.

About you

You will be a practical, organised and solutions-focused ICT professional with the technical knowledge and communication skills to support users confidently across a range of school environments. You should be comfortable diagnosing faults, maintaining networks and peripherals, supporting software and explaining technical issues clearly to colleagues.

If you are ready to play a key role in keeping Sandstone Trust’s schools secure, reliable and connected, we would love to hear from you.

Apply now and help Sandstone Trust deliver technology that works for every classroom and our students.
