We are pleased to announce this exciting opportunity to recruit one full time Trust grade registrar ST3+ position to join Head and Neck Surgical specialties. The post expected to start date is October 2026 for 12 months.
The on-call Rota is a full shift system to cover the Maxillofacial admissions. We encourage applications from individuals who are dual qualified doctors (equivalent to ST3) wishing to pursue a career in Head & Neck Surgery.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide care for both Head and Neck, Maxillofacial and ENT patients. The Rota allows the post holder to have the opportunity to gain significant Head and Neck Cancer experience including reconstructive free flap surgery (around eight major cases performed per month), facial trauma and aesthetic facial surgery.
Applicants will also be encouraged to participate in the extensive teaching, research, audit and service improvement within UCL collaboration projects around individual development requirements and the need of the service.

Professional Qualifications
Essential
- oEligible for Full registration with GMC
- oEligible for full registration with GDC
- oBDS or equivalent dental qualification
- oMBBS or equivalent qualification
- oMRCS/FRCS or AFRCS or equivalent postgraduate diploma
Desirable
- oFDS/FFD FCS or FDS/MFD RCS or equivalent
Clinical Experience
Essential
- A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in maxillofacial surgery (FY3+4 competencies or equivalent)
- Competence in clinical skills relevant to maxillo-facial training
- Experience at SpR level or equivalent
Desirable
- Experience in other related specialties
- ATLS/APLS
- ALS or equivalent
Clinical Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Commitment to personal and professional development in maxillofacial surgery
- Demonstrable interest in and understanding of maxillofacial surgery
- Competent to work without direct supervision where appropriate
- Clear logical thinking showing an analytical/scientific approach
- Understanding of clinical risk management
- Knowledge of evidence informed practice
Desirable
- Extra-curricular activities and achievements relevant to maxillofacial surgery
- Demonstrates breadth of experience and awareness in and outside specialty
Clinical Governance Audit and IT
Essential
- Good understanding of hospital clinical date repositories and adequate IT skills to support your work
