Job summary

This is a 12 month fixed term vacancy

An exciting position has become available in the Clinical Specialties Division at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Trust as Service Manager for Clinical Therapies with the scope of increasing to other Specialties within the division. The role is 37.5 hours per week/ 5 days.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, ambitious and talented individual to join the team. If you are keen to influence and drive patient experience, safety, performance and staff wellbeing then we would like to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to operationally manage the Clinical Therapy services, providing clear leadership and ensuring delivery against our performance goals. You will work closely with the Business Manager, Team Leaders, Clinicians and other staff across the Trust. You will provide leadership and expert advice to your teams to help deliver high standards of care and a quality, patient-centred service with an ethos around continuous improvement.

The post holder will need to have significant experience of operational service delivery. This is a challenging operational role, but represents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.

The role represents an ideal opportunity for the post holder to further their skills and progress their career into a senior management role. You will need a clear and thorough understanding of NHS challenges and opportunities. Additionally, you will be confident in delivering operational initiatives to achieve patient access targets (RTT/DMO1), and competent in complex data handling and IT skills.

You will benefit from dedicated support from the directorate senior management team in delivering your objectives.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification and/ or equivalent experience
Knowlegde & Experience

Essential

  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of Financial Management, HR Management, Performance Management and Project Management
  • Experienced at Managing 18 week RTT/ Diagnostic Waiting list
  • Knowledge of Records management code of practice
  • Understands the changing NHS environment and its impact on service provision for staff
  • Knowledge of business planning
  • Substantial team leadership/supervisory experience
  • Experience of delivering a range of services within an acute healthcare setting
  • Proven track record of contributing to the achievement of initiatives including achieving healthcare targets
  • Partnership working
  • Delivering challenging objectives to a deadline
  • Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of NHS clinical systems
  • Records Audit Experience
  • Experience of successful service delivery

Desirable
