Job summary
Withybush General Hospital is seeking a driven Pharmacist to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Pharmacy Team. You will work in a supportive environment with training opportunities, to build on your foundation skills and develop your expertise.
We are committed to developing and training our staff and you will join our dynamic pharmacy team as a rotational pharmacist, providing pharmaceutical care to a number of different specialties.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills, interprofessional review and shared-decision making upon presentation.
Withybush General Hospital is a busy district general hospital with approximately 250 beds. It provides a range of medical and surgical specialities including coronary care, acute stroke, trauma and orthopaedics, frailty, critical care and the emergency department. The clinical pharmacy service is well established and provides high quality care across all specialities.

You will be joining a team of experienced Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians and you will be expected to work as part of the multidisciplinary team, to deliver a patient focused clinical pharmacy service in all areas.
You will be working as a key member of the pharmacy team providing a clinical service to a number of different areas on rotation being an integral part of the MDT in all areas.
You will have the opportunity to develop your practice in a wide range of clinical areas in a small and friendly general hospital.
You will be supported in any ongoing studies including prescribing qualifications if not already gained.
You will be expected to undertake the role of responsible pharmacist when working as part of the dispensary team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person specification
Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential
- Masters degree in pharmacy (4 years) or equivalent experience or qualifications
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Professional knowledge of medicines managements systems and process in an integrated NHS
- Experience of teaching & supervision of pharmacists, technicians, assistants and students
- Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience or qualifications
- Knowledge of specialist area as described in job advert
Desirable
- Accredited Pre-registration Tutor
- Accredited Diploma Pharmacy Tutor
- Independent Prescriber
Other
Essential
- Flexibility to undertake emergency duty including weekends, Bank Holiday and evening opening
- Have a flexible approach
- Travel between sites and outside organization

- Highly developed knowledge and experience of healthcare
