Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a trained surgical practitioner with robotic experience (Band -8A)We are looking for a Robotic experienced SCP to cover multi-speciality including, ENT, urology, Gynaecology, colorectal and Hepatobiliary.
The role will involve assisting with all surgical procedures with a focus on robotically assisted surgery. You will be involved with the care of the patient through their entire surgical pathway from pre-assessment to post-operative care.
Main duties of the job
- Participate in operative procedures and aspects of pre & post-operative care of Robot assisted surgical (RAS) patients under the supervision of the consultant surgeons.
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, diagnosis implementation and evaluation of care, as an autonomous practitioner with highly specialist skills.
- Be involved in the strategic review and improvement of clinical services as appropriate through active participation with the multi-professional team.
- Be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence based care.
- Working in close participation with patients and their families to ensure shared clinical decision process.

Qualifications
Essential
- Master's degree in Surgical Care Practitioner with a significant portfolio of clinical practice in relevant speciality
- Extensive post registration experience and demonstrable experience in relevant specialty area
- Advanced non-medical prescribing (as required within scope of practice
- Advanced life support (as required depending on clinical area)
- Teaching and mentoring qualification
- Evidence of professional continuous development and portfolio of learning
Desirable
- Previous or willing to undertake robotic systems' training
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Recognised leadership qualification
Experience
Essential
- Significant clinical experience of surgical pathways as a nurse within a theatre or CNS role
- Experience of assisting in laparoscopy and open major surgery
- Experience in project management
- Evidence of leading service change
- Evidence of advanced clinical skills
Desirable
- Audit or research experience
- Experience of managing a budget
- Experience of assisting in more than one surgical sub-speciality and/or of having transitioned between sub-specialities
