Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced TherapyAssociate Practitioner to join our friendly Trauma and Orthopaedics Therapy Team in East Cheshire.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Therapy Associate Practitioner with proven experience in the assessment and treatment of patients within trauma and orthopaedics ward settings.

We are an exciting team, offering assessment and treatment to patients in trauma and orthopaedics. We work holistically within a large multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Consultants, Assistants and Social Workers.

We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of 12 months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a team providing a comprehensive, rehabilitation service for inpatients on the Orthopaedic Unit at MDGH (including Orthopaedic outliers, Paediatrics and Orthopaedic Clinics) under the guidance of a qualified therapist.

To contribute to multidisciplinary team management.

To contribute to operational delivery and service development

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5 GCSE's including English and Maths or equivalent
  • BTEC National Diploma or equivalent in a relevant subject

Desirable

  • Assistant membership of a relevant professional body
  • Completion of a Foundation degree in Health & Social Care
  • Successful completion or currently undertaking an European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge / competency of a range of assessment tools & interventions relevant to the role
  • An understanding of confidentiality & Information Governance
  • Skills in delivering therapy programmes
  • Ability to adapt programmes to meet the changing needs of the clients with reference to the supervising therapist
  • Ability to support and motivate patients as appropriate
  • Ability to carry out and complete delegated project

  • Knowledge of relevant terminology and clinical conditions

Experience
