We are seeking a dynamic and motivated UEC & SCC Manager to join the Cheshire and Merseyside Urgent and Emergency Care Team. This exciting role sits at the heart of the System Coordination Centre (SCC), supporting both day-to-day operational resilience and the delivery of major transformation programmes across a population of more than 2.7 million people
This is a fast-paced, high-profile role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with NHS providers, local authorities, ambulance services, primary care, community services and NHS England to support operational resilience, manage system pressures, and deliver major improvement programmes.
Main duties of the job
What you'll do
- Lead the day-to-day coordination of the Cheshire and Merseyside System Coordination Centre.
- Support system partners during periods of operational pressure and escalation.
- Drive improvement programmes focused on patient flow, care coordination, hospital discharge, admission avoidance and urgent care transformation.
- Monitor system performance, risks and operational pressures, turning insight into action.
- Produce high-quality reports, briefings, and analysis for senior leaders.
- Support delivery of key priorities including ambulance handovers, four-hour performance, length of stay reduction and corridor care improvement.

This role operates across 7-days on a rota pattern including bank holidays and weekends.

Person specification
Knowledge, Training & Experience
Essential
- Able to work a rota covering 7 days including weekends and public holidays
- Educated to post-graduate level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
- Knowledge and expertise of UEC Operations and SCC functions
- Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
- Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence
Desirable
- Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques, and tools, such as Prince 2 Foundation and Microsoft Project
Skills
Essential
- Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures
- Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium, and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly
- Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the individuals. Skills for managing relationships with a range of different stakeholders.
