About the Role
Join a well-established Barking practice where first-opinion work stays varied, client relationships matter and you have the reassurance of nearby hospital support when needed. This is a full-time Veterinary Surgeon role for an experienced GP vet who enjoys a busy general practice caseload and the chance to keep developing clinically.
The practice is based in Barking, a riverside town in East London with strong transport links. You will be part of a collaborative team, and the role is supported by Wanstead Veterinary Hospital for advanced clinical support, internal referrals, OOH care and hospitalisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out consultations and make evidence-based management and treatment recommendations.
- Perform GP surgery within your own competence and clinical limits.
- Prescribe, dispense and manage medications in line with medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.
- Keep accurate clinical records and detailed patient histories.
- Refer cases promptly when further investigation or treatment is needed, with internal referral support to Wanstead Veterinary Hospital.
- Build trusting relationships with clients and their pets.
- Contribute to a respectful, supportive and collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Experienced GP Veterinary Surgeon.
- Confident providing a full GP service in a busy first-opinion environment.
- Comfortable managing a varied caseload.
- Interested in building strong client relationships.
- A particular interest in surgery and dentistry would be a bonus.
- Not suitable for a new graduate.
