About the Role
This is a small animal Veterinary Surgeon position based at Mearley Vets, covering three sites across Lancashire. The role offers a varied caseload with consultations, surgeries, client callbacks, prescriptions, in patient care and workups all part of the week.
The rota is ideally four days per week, with hours varying between 8.30am and 7.30pm, plus a Saturday rota that is typically one in four. There are no out of hours or bank holiday duties, and the team is open to discussing shift patterns and working hours to suit the right candidate.
The area offers countryside, market towns and strong community feel, with access to the Ribble Valley, Pendle Hill and the Forest of Bowland. Manchester, Leeds and the Lake District are also within reach.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care across three Lancashire sites
- Carry out consultations, surgeries, client callbacks and prescriptions
- Manage in patient care and workups
- Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to support patient and client care
- Share knowledge and contribute to the clinical culture of the practice
Requirements
- Veterinary degree and RCVS registration, or eligibility to register
- Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
- Proactive approach to learning, feedback and development
- Professionalism, reliability and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
