Activities Aide

New Albany Care Center is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Aide to help enrich the daily lives of our residents. In this role, you will assist with leading meaningful recreational, social, educational, spiritual, and wellness programs designed around residents’ interests, abilities, and needs.

Activities aides commonly support group programs, one-to-one engagement, special events, outings, setup and cleanup, resident escorts, and participation documentation.

What you’ll do

• Lead or support group activities such as games, exercise, music, arts and crafts, discussion groups, celebrations, and themed events.
• Provide one-to-one visits and individualized activities for residents who are unable or prefer not to attend group programs.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting each resident’s preferences, abilities, culture, and level of independence.
• Escort residents to and from activities, meals, events, and outings as assigned.
• Document resident attendance and participation accurately in accordance with organizational policies.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for residents and guests.

• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to safely lift, move, or carry activity supplies and assist with program setup, consistent with job requirements and applicable accommodation laws.
• CPR/First Aid certification, valid driver’s license, background check, or additional state-required credentials may be required based on facility policy.
