Job summary

Are you an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner looking for an exciting opportunity to join a progressive Orthogeriatric service?

We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and clinically skilled ACP to become an integral member of our Orthogeriatric team, bridging the gap between trauma and Orthopaedics and frailty medicine. This is an excellent opportunity to work autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary team, providing expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management for patients admitted with a fragility femoral fracture, with a view to expanding the service to cover all inpatient silver trauma.

The successful candidate will work alongside Consultant Orthogeriatricians, Orthopaedic surgeons, junior doctors, nursing teams and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. The role offers the opportunity to influence service development, improve patient outcomes and contribute to the continued advancement of advanced clinical practice within the Trust. .

We are looking for someone who has:

  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Independent prescribing qualification.
  • Significant experience working within acute trauma, frailty medicine or related clinical settings.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and multidisciplinary team working skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • A passion for improving patient experience and developing innovative services.

Main duties of the job

Undertake comprehensive assessments, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with fragility femoral fractures and silver trauma.

Work autonomously within an agreed scope of practice, making complex clinical decisions and initiating appropriate investigations and treatment plans.

Request and interpret diagnostic investigations and make referrals to specialist services where appropriate.

Support timely patient flow through the trauma and Orthopaedic pathway while maintaining high standards of care.

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to provide seamless and safe patient care.

Act as an expert clinical resource and role model within the service

  • X-ray interpretation
