Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our friendly and professional team in the Surgical Pre-Assessment team at Kingston Hospital. We are looking for someone with good clerical experience and excellent IT skills. The successful candidate must enjoy working in both a patient facing environment but also be happy to work independently.

You will be supporting the busy nursing team, booking Surgical Pre-Assessment telephone and face-to-face appointments. You will also be involved with our new screening process, contacting patients and maintaining spreadsheets

Please note that this is a 6 month fixed term contract

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant must be personable and have the ability to communicate with staff of all levels with an organised and motivated approach.

Ideally you will have previous experience of working in admin within the healthcare sector. A willingness to learn is essential and full training and support will be given on all aspects of this role.

The role will involve booking appointments, ensuring the nurses have all the relevant information for their clinics and supporting the reception area when required.

This post is a full-time position and the successful applicant will be required to work 5 days a week Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

Essential

  • oGCSE Maths & English or equivalent level of education
  • oNVQ Level 2 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
Experience

  • oExperience of healthcare administrative systems and processes

  • oExperience of working with the general public
