Children's Complex Needs Nurse: Permanent (37.5 hours)Rowan House, Hyde
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the ISCAN team (Integrated Service for Children with Additional Needs). It involves offering nursing, therapy and support to children with additional needs and their family as part of a multi-agency team. You will work in a variety of settings including clinics, schools and children's homes.
Main duties of the job
You will have experience of working with children with complex healthcare needs and their families and have good communication skills. Applicants must have the experience to provide, implement and manage training packages for children with complex needs, as well as the ability to carry our other complex needs nursing duties as required.
Applicants should be flexible, reliable, enthusiastic and able to adapt to various situations and conditions.

Qualifications
Essential
- Be a Degree level registered nurse (child) with significant post registration experience.
- Mentorship qualification.
Desirable
- Non-Medical prescriber
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
- A sound knowledge of child development and common complex disabilities and a range of treatment approaches
- Understanding of evidence based practice and the implications for clinical practice.
- Knowledge of Child Protection Legislation
- Common Assessment Framework and common processes
- Understanding of evidence based practice and the implications for clinical practice.
- Networking and interagency working
- Good working knowledge of therapy processes and theoretical models
- Significant experience as a qualified children's nurse working with children with complex needs within a relevant setting
- Experience working as part of a multi-agency team
- Evidence of continuous professional development maintained in a portfolio including attendance of recent post graduate courses
- Experience supervising junior staff/therapy assistants
- Working with children and young people in the school and community setting
- Significant post registration experience
Desirable
- To have knowledge of National Care Record System (EMIS/Lorenzo)
- Experience working collaboratively with other agencies, e.g. education, social care, voluntary sector
- Awareness of NHS modernization Agenda
