Job summary

Are you an ambitious, values-driven nursing leader with a passion for delivering outstanding care closer to home?

We are seeking a Matron for the Community Clinical Delivery Group (CDG) to lead and inspire our nursing workforce across East Suffolk. This is a unique opportunity to help in shaping the future of community healthcare at a time of significant transformation.

This role offers the opportunity to influence the future of community services through strong clinical leadership, workforce development, quality improvement and partnership working, ensuring safe, effective and integrated care is delivered closer to home.

Main duties of the job

As Matron, you will provide visible professional leadership for the nursing workforce across community services in East Suffolk. You will work in partnership with clinical, operational and system leaders to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing a diverse community nursing workforce.
  • Providing professional nursing leadership across Integrated Neighbourhood Teams and community services.
  • Driving quality, safety, patient experience and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, retention and succession planning.
  • Delivering professional standards, governance and assurance.
  • Developing future nursing leaders and creating a positive culture where staff can thrive.
  • Contributing to the strategic development of community services as we continue to expand care closer to home and strengthen neighbourhood-based models of care.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • oEvidence of academic pathway equivalent to Degree in Nursing or Health Related study
  • oMasters Degree in relation to health management Or equivalent experience that recognises developed and complex levels of knowledge, which enable the development of original responses to complicated and unpredictable problems and situations. Professional training / Learning at this level will need to demonstrate highly developed professional knowledge, which is appropriate for senior professionals / managers
  • oProfessional nursing qualification
  • oDemonstration and evidence of personal professional development

Desirable

  • oMasters Degree or working toward/unit/departments Masters Degree level education
  • oManagement Leadership Qualification, which has been tested in a management post
  • oDegree or Masters Degree in Specialist Practice Nursing in the Home
Experience

Essential

  • oProven experience at senior nurse level
  • oExperience in current health policy and its impact on the management and development of acute health services
  • oSignificant experience of effective staff management
  • oProviding advice to specialist and non-specialist staff
  • oExperience of ability to manage change quickly & effectively
  • oExperience of ability to manage and lead nursing team
  • oExperience of service redesign and development
  • oA proven record of success in managing significant operational change while also developing and maintaining high standards of care
  • oExperience of analysing and making judgements involving situations where there are a number of conflicting issues, and where there is no obvious outcome - some of which be conflicting
  • oExperience of interpreting national policies and initiatives and implementing these into the workplace
  • oPublic speaking and presentation skills

Desirable

  • oEvidence of effective working relationships both inside and outside the organisation
  • oLeadership Facilitator
  • oExperience of working in a community setting
