Practice Nurse

Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic qualified practice nurse to join our friendly team. We are looking for a nurse who has excellent clinical, communication skills and interest in the treatment and care of patients. You must be able to work well under pressure and cope with challenging situations and support other clinicians. You will require to have a full NMC registration and to have an enhanced DBS check.

Main duties of the job

We need candidates who ideally can demonstrate clinical competencies in the following area:

• Chronic Disease Management
• Travel vaccinations and advice
• Childhood Immunisation
• Anticoagulation
• Cervical smears
• Other Treatment room duties to include administration of injections.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration.
• Experience working in primary care or a transferable clinical setting.
• Excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident in managing long-term conditions, health promotion, vaccinations and routine clinical assessments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good IT, record-keeping and organisational skills.
• Commitment to patient-centred care, safeguarding and maintaining professional standards.
• Experience using SystmOne.
• Practice Nurse/Primary Care experience.
• Experience in chronic disease management, cervical screening, immunisations and travel health.
• Relevant primary care qualifications or willingness to undertake further training.
