The successful candidate will undertake a varied Practice Nurse role, working alongside our GPs, Lead Practice Nurses and wider clinical team to provide high-quality, patient-centred care.

Chronic disease management is an important part of the role, with particular opportunities for someone with an interest or experience in diabetes and/or respiratory disease.

Main duties of the job

Depending on your existing skills and experience, the role may include:

  • Chronic disease reviews, including diabetes, asthma, COPD, cardiovascular disease, CKD and hypertension
  • Cervical screening
  • Childhood and adult immunisations
  • Travel health and vaccination
  • Wound care and leg ulcer management
  • Phlebotomy and INR testing
  • ECG and other routine clinical observations
  • NHS Health Checks and cardiovascular risk assessment
  • Health promotion, lifestyle and weight-management advice
  • New patient health checks
  • Contraception and HRT reviews
  • Mental Health and Learning Disability annual reviews
  • Ear irrigation, following appropriate training
  • Assisting with minor surgery and clinical procedures
  • Telephone and face-to-face clinical advice
  • Participation in seasonal vaccination clinics
  • Student supervision and teaching, where appropriately qualified

We are happy to support the development of additional skills where these would benefit both the nurse and the practice.
